The main mission of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic is to carry out state supervision of nuclear safety of nuclear facilities and thereby ensure that nuclear energy in the Slovak Republic is used for peaceful purposes and that Slovak nuclear facilities are being designed, built, operated and decommissioned in line with the applicable legislation.

The Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic relies on the results of scientific development and research as well as on international cooperation.
